More Easter Festivities

Easter dinner--lamb with mint sauce, roasted potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, roasted parsnips and mixed veg with gravy. I also made an amazing three-layer coconut cake (Paula Deen's recipe). It took us the whole rest of the week to finish it! :) We drank the bottle of Normandy cidre that we'd picked up in Calais last Easter, too.

On Monday we went to The Tetley, the art gallery in the old Tetley brewery. Most of the exhibitions were a bit abstract (we're not into modern art, admittedly), but it was a great way to see the old brewery. This was the Board room. I love the panelling and the red leather furniture! The contrast between this room and a grimy, windowless factory floor is pretty shocking, too...

On Tuesday we went to Harrogate to see a Yorkshire art exhibition at Mercer Art Gallery and to tour the Pump Room Museum. We had a lovely pub lunch at the Old Bell, too--the service was so-so, but the food was excellent! Richard had Oyster Stout for his first post-Lent pint, too.

This section of the pub used to be the Farrah's of Harrogate toffee shop
